Our Social Mission
At HMPasties, we believe that everyone deserves a second chance. Our mission is to provide meaningful employment opportunities for ex-offenders, helping them reintegrate into society, rebuild their lives, and reduce reoffending rates. We are proud to be a social business committed to creating positive change, one pasty at a time.
Why We Exist
Reoffending is a significant challenge in the UK. According to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), around 40% of adult offenders reoffend within one year of release, with the rate even higher among those who do not find stable employment. Employment has been shown to dramatically reduce the likelihood of reoffending, and that’s where we step in.
By providing training, support, and a real chance at employment, we help ex-offenders gain the skills and confidence they need to turn their lives around. The Ministry of Justice has found that ex-offenders who find employment are 9 percentage points less likely to reoffend than those who remain unemployed.
Our Impact
Since our founding, we have seen firsthand the powerful impact that employment can have on reducing reoffending. Every pie, pasty, and sausage roll we make contributes to a larger mission: reducing reoffending rates, supporting community safety, and helping individuals reclaim their lives.
